A new Jack in the Box will be located at 850 N. Highway 41 in Post Falls at East Mullan Avenue. It will have a 24-hour drive through and a dining room for 70 people, open from 5 a.m. to midnight. Construction will begin June 9, and it will be open in mid-September.

Key people are Ben Eramya, owner of Feast Foods (also owning Qdoba Mexican Grills), in Murrieta, Calif.; Dan Myhren, director of operations; and James Biggs, district manager. They plan to employ about 35 people. The regular full Jack in the Box menu will be available. The 60-year-old company has about 2,200 outlets in 21 states, including two in Coeur d'Alene and one in Sandpoint.

Midtown Coeur d'Alene is thriving

Plenty of business action is happening in Midtown. Here's a quick look with details on some to come later.

Capone's Pub & Grill at 751 N. Fourth St. has started expansion to the seating area and kitchen and new parking onto a lot south of the original building. Owners Tom and Theresa Capone also opened a new small bar called Mid City Pub at 816 N. Fourth in the former Bo Jack's bar. Mid City has small food plates, craft beers and some wines.

Coeur d'Alene's first tea house is coming to 901 N. Fourth. The historic home, last used as another small business called Rustic Romance, is being remodeled for Gaiwan Tea House with organic loose-leaf tea.

Pack Rat Estate & Junk Store will fit right in with Midtown thrift stores in the space that was last The Stash Box at 812 N. Fourth.

Bare Culture Kombucha is now sold and brewed at 1701 N. Fourth. Their products are also sold at many health food stores, restaurants and similar businesses in the area including Winter Ridge Natural Foods in Sandpoint.

Great Escapes Espresso II, opening in the 1100 block of Fourth, will be another option for espresso drinks. Great Escapes Espresso, which is currently in Hayden at the intersection of Hayden and Ramsey, will have a drive through and a walk-up window.

The former Galaxy Gaming storefront will become a hookah lounge at 2506 N. Fourth.

The building at the northwest corner of North Fourth and Harrison evidently has been sold to a developer in Spokane who plans to replace the existing center with a new gas station and convenience store. Both Interstate Office Supply and Just Roses have moved from the original building.

Much of this info came from Matt Behringer at ww.inlandbusiness.blogspot.com.

Bates becomes Lighthouse

The former Bates Motel, taking advantage of the Bates Motel name in the "Psycho" movie, is now named The Lighthouse Motel.

Being refurbished at 2018 E. Sherman Ave., the 12-room place was built in the 1950s. New owners Clarence and Roberta Koopal named it Lighthouse to reflect seeing a Christian light.

Here's a load of Tidbits!

- Texas Roadhouse and the Enaville Resort (Snakepit) have new owners.

- Watch for Academy Mortgage in Rathdrum, Scarlett's Golf Experience in Silver Lake Mall, two new large buildings under construction on Mullan Avenue, Renee's Downtown Cafe, Raymond James Financial Services and Willamette Valley Bank on Sherman and the start of a new building for Chipotle Mexican Grill on Appleway.

- "Pull back," "pull out" and "push up" are two words as verbs and one word as nouns. Notice that punctuation goes ahead of the quote mark.

- When fish are in schools, they take debate.
