SANDPOINT — Feeding geese at City Beach can now earn you a $100 fine.

The City Council approved of an ordinance prohibiting certain activities in city parks during the regular council meeting, Wednesday, Oct. 21. The ordinance includes prohibiting feeding waterfowl, and horses, golf, snowmobiling and disturbing the peace, are not allowed in a city park.

City attorney Scot Campbell said the ordinance cleans up previous ordinances the council had passed in the past. He said the ordinance prohibits feeding geese in city parks, mainly at City Beach, where people are known to bring bags of bread and food for the geese and other animals.
