Brandon James 'Derbs' Derbyshire, 35

Beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend, Brandon James “Derbs” Derbyshire, of Smelterville, Idaho, passed away on Oct. 30, 2015, in Pinehurst, Idaho. Brandon was born on Jan. 21, 1980, in Kellogg, Idaho. He was the son of Allan and Peggy (Boylan) Derbyshire.
Derbs lived his entire life enjoying the Silver Valley and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1999. He worked as an equipment operator for the family business, Panhandle Paving.
Derbs enjoyed all things outdoors — camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and boating. He loved spending time with his friends and having a good time. He was known for being the life of the party. Derbs was a kind, generous and fun guy; he had a great sense of humor and was always smiling. He had the biggest heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone at anytime. Derbs was a member of the Friends of the NRA and a snowmobiling club.
Brandon is survived and will be greatly missed by his parents, Allan and Peggy Derbyshire of Kingston; his sister, Hollie (Kevin) Yrjana of Pinehurst; his nieces, Paige and Ella Yrjana of Pinehurst; and his grandparents, Marge and Jim Holand of Kingston. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Brandon is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lois and Mike Derbyshire.
A viewing will be held from 3-6 p.m. today, Nov. 3, 2015, at Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg. There will be a wake at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at the Wallace Elks; all friends and family are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions in Derbs’ honor be made to Shoshone County Public Shooting Range, P.O. Box 272, Smelterville, ID 83868 for a scholarship fund for youth hunter safety classes and to benefit local gun clubs.
