COEUR d’ALENE — Polls for the 2015 city and fire elections open today at 8 a.m., and will remain open until 8 p.m.
Voters will have an opportunity to vote for council positions and some mayoral positions in cities all over Idaho. Depending on where they live, some voters will also have the opportunity to vote for fire commissioners and a school annexation measure.
A photo identification card is required to vote. Voters can also opt to sign a personal identification affidavit in lieu of a photo identification.
Acceptable identification includes a driver's license or state-issued photo identification card; a passport or other form of federal identification card; tribal-issued photo identification card or a student photo identification card.
Voters who’ve moved or changed names must re-register. They and new registrants must bring a photo identification and proof of residency, such as a utility bill or auto insurance certificate with the voter’s current residence address listed, dated at least 30 days prior to their voting date.
Voters who have questions about their proof of residency documents should call the elections office at 446-1030.
Not all registered voters are having an election in November. Voters who would like to see a sample ballot for which they are eligible can also call the elections office at the number above.
