SANDPOINT — A Sandpoint man apprehended in connection with a 1981 child abduction and slaying in California has been linked to the murder of a second child, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Kenneth Raston Rasmuson was awaiting trial in the 1981 murder of Jeffrey Vargo when DNA evidence connected him to the disappearance and murder of Miguel Arturo in 1986. The 6-year-ol boy was last seen alighting from a school bus and his body was later discovered amid brush near the Agoura Hills, Calif., commune where he lived, the Times reported.
