Young woman from Quincy hurt when auto hits rock

QUINCY — A young Quincy woman was injured when the car she was in ran into a rock in the roadway on Highway 97A about two miles south of Entiat on Oct. 18.
Including the driver, there were four people in the white 1997 Toyota Avalon. Alcohol and drugs were not factors, and all were using proper safety restraints, the Washington State Patrol said.
Injured was Zaira A. Carbajal, 18. She was transported by ambulance to Confluence Health.
The driver was Leonardo Ventura Olguin, 33, of Quincy. The vehicle was left at the scene to be removed later by the owner.
The other occupants of the vehicle were Christian E. Maldonado, 24, of Quincy and Maria D. Heredia, 53, of Ephrata.
The vehicle was southbound on 97A at mile post 212 when it ran into a rock that had slid onto the road. Ventura Olguin was not cited.
