Man released for health treatment after claiming Hepatitis C exposure in jail

A Flathead County man facing two charges of failing to register as a sex offender was granted conditional release from jail on Friday after he claimed that he may have been exposed to hepatitis C in Flathead County Detention Center.

Flathead District Court Judge David Ortley said the claims about health policy inside the jail were not weighted in his decision, but that he did not think that the taxpayers should have to pay for medical treatment for chronic conditions that Max Wayne Allen is already suffering.
