Dog days are not quite over

A Park Avenue resident called the Whitefish Police Department to report his dog was lost. The chocolate lab was spotted on Central Avenue and brought to the police department, where she was then reunited with the owner.
Another dog was reported lost, then found and returned to a Baker Avenue resident.
A Washington Avenue resident called to report a dog that would not stop barking in the neighborhood. The caller said he had gotten into a verbal fight with the woman who was watching the dog, and that the noise was an ongoing issue. Officers spoke to both parties, but it was unclear if the dog was reprimanded.
A Central Avenue bartender called police for help removing an unruly female patron from the establishment, but the female’s friends were reportedly able to convince the woman to leave before officers could respond.
The manager of a U.S. 93 South business called to report a man “yelling and cussing.” The caller said the man had caused disturbances in the area before. Officers located the man and spoke with him about his behavior.
A resident on 12th Avenue West called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report four dogs running around.
A few minutes later, a caller on Scenic Drive reported three dogs running loose in that neighborhood. This caller allegedly threatened to shoot the dogs if they came near her rabbits.
A Ninth Street West resident called police to report that an ex-boyfriend was stalking her.
A concerned neighbor on Diane Road called to report a fight going on in the apartment building. The caller reported sounds like someone was getting beaten up and thrown into walls, and was worried there might be weapons involved. Officers responded and found the fight was verbal only.
The Smith Valley Fire Department responded to a report of a grass fire in Kila, as well as on Batavia Lane in Kalispell. The department also followed up on reports of smoke from a separate call on Batavia Lane.
