An October fundraising event in Kalispell has netted more than $100,000 for Immanuel Lutheran Communities.
The money will be used for part of the extensive campus redevelopment project.
The private screening of the documentary, “I’ll Be Me,” which chronicles country music legend Glen Campbell’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease, raised money to be used specifically for a new memory garden.
“Almost all of us know someone whose life has been touched by this terrible disease,” said Jason Cronk, chief executive officer of Immanuel Lutheran Communities. “This event not only helped raise awareness about Alzheimer’s and the impact it has on families, it also helped continue our mission to grow in service to area seniors.”
The private screening had 49 sponsors and included an auction for the memory garden, which raised around $20,000. The additional money came from donations and sponsorship dollars.
“This was truly a wonderful event and, thankfully, it will have a lasting impact on area seniors,” Cronk said. “We’re truly honored by the community support toward this important project.”
The memory garden is part of a $45 million project that will include new independent living and assisted living residences.
