Lake City Transmission seeks help for grieving parents

A Hayden automotive shop is asking community members to help them help the parents of a 13-year-old who died last week.

“Always pushing the limits, Jamison did everything at 150 percent and 200 mph. He did it first and thought about it later. His love to challenge pressed him to explore and experiment and his agility lent him the ability to press far ahead of his peers in many ways. Though introverted, Jamison had a solid group of friends that shared his life at school. He never had a need to be with many people although he would share his laughter, humor and smile with anyone who passed him by. His inward quest to find answers kept him watching YouTube videos on science, spirituality, chess, parkour or any other thing that was on his mind and his Internet browser history was always filled with Wikipedia searches. Jamison’s light shone beyond his body and his spirit was always too big to be contained. He did as he chose and made no excuses for why he did what he did. His thirst for life as at times incomprehensible and his fire lit up every place he visited. His zest for living; his way of looking at the world and how he questioned everything and accepted what could not be understood is what made him shine so brightly,” wrote Jim and Daun Jacobsen, of Rathdrum, about their son, after his death.

Another challenge facing the family at this time is not having reliable transportation. The transmission in their Dodge Caravan is in need of repair.

“We would like to lift this family up in our community and help them in their time of need,” wrote Lake City Transmission and Muffler, in a message to The Press. “We are accepting donations on their behalf to get their vehicle up and running. We will match every dollar donated by the community, to make sure that they have reliable transportation again.”
