Shook drops hole-in-one at Bandon Dunes

SANDPOINT — According to the assistant golf pro, it happens about once or so every month at the Old Macdonald course, the fourth course of the famous Bandon Dunes Golf Courses in Oregon.
Sandpoint golfer Dan Shook was the lucky guy this month, notching his first ever hole-in-one on hole No. 5, a 121 yard par 3 that like many of the holes, is nestled along a picturesque stretch of the Oregon Coast.
Shook, playing with golfing buddies Dann Hall, Rob Maurice and Craig Gildersleeve, ripped a nine-iron for the memorable stroke. An 18 handicapper who admits to playing a lot of golf, Shook hit his tee-shot straight over the pin, then watched as the golf gods smiled one of its faithful practitioners.
