Retired Marine Col. Tom Sward of Bigfork gives the keynote address at the Swan River School Veterans Day ceremony on Wednesday morning, November 11, in Bigfork. Sward talked to students about his beginning in the boy scouts and what it took to reach the level of Eagle Scout. Sward also encouraged students to seek out and find their passion. "The Marine Corps turned out to be my passion," said Sward. "It's more than a passion for an organization I still love, it the Marines I encountered every day when I went to work. I get to meet men and womdn dedicated and focused on bettering themselves and making their families and their country proud of them." (Brenda Ahearn/Daily Inter Lake)
