Students Angie Hawman, left and Amy Bottomley hold a candle at sunrise on Thursday, October 22, north of Kalispell. The two women are students in the Montana State University College of Nursing, Kalispell campus. " It is our mission to raise awareness surrounding hospice care, and promote November as National Hospice and Palliative Care Month," they said in a press release. "Hospice care has not only been shown to improve quality of life and provide dignity in death, but also positively impacts the lives of family members caring for their loved ones during the final stages of life." Hawman and Bottomley are collaborating with Frontier Hospice to host a community event called Light Up A Life: A Night of Remembrance, a free annual event that brings family and community members together to remember lost loved ones and to promote compassion and care through unity. Light Up A Life takes place tonight at Northridge Lutheran Church in Kalispell beginning at 6 p.m. (Brenda Ahearn/Daily Inter Lake)
