MATTAWA — Wahluke High School was well represented at the state high school cross country championships at Pasco last weekend.
The Warriors were not able to post team scores, but their two entries finished in the first half of the boys and girls listings. The boy will graduate, but the girl, only a sophomore, has two years left.
Senior Eduardo Valdenea finished 26th among the boys. His clocking of 17:10.7 was 34 seconds faster than the first Royal boy.
Jessica Arellano of Wahluke finished 58th overall and was the 10th finisher from the SCAC in the girls race. She pretty much ran in the middle of Royal’s pack, finishing behind three Knights and ahead of four.
