Robert Lowell Rousselle, 85

Robert (Bob) Lowell Rousselle resided in Spokane, Wash., and passed away in Hayden Lake, Idaho, on Nov. 8, 2015.

He was born on Oct. 13, 1930, to Edwin Rousselle and Ann Brosinske in St. Ignatius, Mont. He was a proud member of the Salish Kootenai tribe of Montana. He graduated from North Central High School in 1949. He married Juanita Jean Anderson on Oct. 15, 1950, in Spokane and enjoyed 55 years of marriage before Nita’s passing on May 6, 2005.

Bob worked 40 years driving semis for URM Stores, Inc. in Spokane.

Bob and Nita started their cherry orchard in 1958 on Flathead Lake in Montana. They enjoyed their special place and spent every weekend taking care of their trees.

Bob loved to play softball and was inducted into the Spokane Metro Softball Hall of Fame in 1987. He enjoyed his classic cars and hot rods (Fords) and showed them in many area car shows. He also loved to play golf and was competitive in all sports.

Bob was preceded in death by his son, Robert C. Rousselle on Oct. 30, 2012. Bob is survived by his daughter, Karen Robinette and son-in-law Tim Warnecke; grandchildren Valerie (Steven) Parks of Fountain, Colo., and Jeffrey Rousselle; sister Elaine Vogt; nephew Rex (Carol) Edwards; brother-in-law Ed (Susan) Wood; sister-in-law Shirley (Lee) McDowell; and his very special friend, Carol Phelps.

Bob was a very compassionate man and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need especially his family and friends. His big heart touched the lives of many.

Funeral services will take place at noon Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, in the Sunset Mausoleum at Fairmont Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley, Spokane, with Mike Sanborn officiating.
