A Kalispell woman convicted of a fifth offense of driving under the influence of alcohol has received a three-year sentence.

Flathead District Judge Heidi Ulbricht on Thursday sentenced Anna Alcock, 48, to three years with the Montana Department of Corrections with a recommendation that she receive another round of alcohol abuse treatment.

Another consecutive five-year suspended sentence was also put in place for a previous felony DUI conviction. Ulbricht noted that Alcock has been in treatment many times.

“You could teach the class,” Ulbricht said as she encouraged Alcock to stay sober.

Alcock said she had been sober for three years before she fell off the wagon on Aug. 21. Alcock was stopped by a Kalispell Police officer for speeding down Main Street. A breath test indicated Alcock had a .206 blood alcohol concentration. The legal limit is .08.

At the time of the crash Alcock was on probation, serving a 35-month suspended sentence handed down in December 2013 for a DUI offense where Alcock crossed the center line, crashed head-on with another vehicle and offered the victim $5,000 at the scene of the crime.

When the victim called police, Alcock fled.

The victim followed Alcock home and when an officer showed up to arrest her, she was uncooperative. She tried to sneak out the back door of the police station during booking and fought a blood draw.

The blood draw was eventually successful and indicated Alcock had a blood alcohol concentration of .32.
