Crash victims are seeking damages

SANDPOINT — A Priest River couple who were struck by a Bonner County sheriff's deputy in a traffic collision on U.S. Highway 95 is seeking damages for injuries they sustained in the crash.

Counsel for Rodney and Cathy Howard filed tort claims against the county in 1st District Court on Nov. 19. The amount of damages the couple intends to recover is not yet specified, according to the claims.

The claims serve as a notice of intent to sue if damages are not awarded.
