A 73-year-old Polson-Ronan area man was found dead after his wife called emergency dispatchers at about 10 p.m. to say her husband went hiking and never returned, Don Bell, Lake County Sheriff said.

The man, who was an avid hiker set off on a snowshoeing trip earlier in the day in the Hell Roaring area.
