Employer calls police for twice-cashed check

An employer on Wisconsin Avenue reported a theft to Whitefish Police Department after an employee electronically deposited her paycheck and then cashed it later at a retail store.
A woman in Washington asked for help retrieving her service dog from a man who had allegedly taken it to Whitefish. The woman did not have an address for the man.
An officer escorted a woman to a hotel after she reported that her boyfriend would not let her leave a residence on Iowa Avenue. The woman admitted that she had been drinking.

A deputy sternly scolded a woman on Fox Hill Drive for making a false report to dispatch after she reported that she found a dog that needed to be taken to the shelter. When the deputy arrived he found out that the woman was actually the owner of the dog and wanted it to go to the shelter because it had been sprayed by a skunk.
A man on South Cedar Drive told deputies that he did not want to press charges after calling to report that his girlfriend had broken the windows out of his truck.
A woman did not want Kalispell Police Department to pursue an investigation after she originally reported that someone had shoplifted candy from a store on Third Avenue East North. The person had paid for some of the candy purchased so staff was unsure of whether or not an actual theft had occurred.
