ROYAL CITY — The United Methodist Church will have its 5th annual chili feed fund-raiser at the Royal City Community Center at the Royal Golf Course on Saturday, Oct. 17.
The chili feed, which will include salad and ice cream, will be served between 5-8 p.m. Diners are asked to donate whatever they wish or are able to donate.
The new cash will go into a fund the church has set aside to make the building handicap accessible.
“I hope we raise enough this time to make it reality,” congregation member Alice Parker said.
Parker, long-time resident of the Royal Slope and one-time farmer of the year, will provide her simple but world famous chili. It is made with hamburger, beans, tomatoes, onions, brown sugar, ketchup and chili powder.
The meal will also include corn bread, lemonade, coffee or tea.
