Attorneys on Thursday dropped a request for bail modification at an arraignment for a Kalispell man charged with a string of indecent exposure incidents that culminated in an alleged sexual assault on two young children in August.

Christopher Andrew Malson, 26, pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of sexual assault.

Malson is accused of an assault involving two young girls under 5 years old on Aug. 18 as they played in a Kalispell park.

The children identified Malson from a photo lineup.

Malson is being held on $85,000 bail. Malson’s attorney dropped the request for bail modification.

Malson was out on $2,000 bail for misdemeanor crimes at the time of his arrest for the felony cases. He was released from jail in January for misdemeanor indecent exposure charges for two incidents where he allegedly exposed himself to children in Kalispell and two incidents where he tried to get children to enter his vehicle while saying things such as “I’d like to see you naked.”

A jury trial in the felony case is set for Jan. 4, 2016. An omnibus hearing in early December will determine the future of the misdemeanor cases.
