Indoor swim lessons: Registration will begin Monday for the next six-week session of indoor swim lessons sponsored by the Coeur d’Alene Recreation Department and held at the McGrane Center.
Classes offered are Parent-Tot and 3-year-olds and above with different levels. Classes are held on Monday or Wednesday evenings starting the week of Nov. 2.
Registration will take place at the Coeur d’Alene City Hall Recreation Department, 710 Mullan Avenue. Cost is $37. Registration is limited; no pre-registration is allowed.
Basketball: Registration for 6th-8th grade boys and girls basketball is Oct. 12-23. This program is set to begin mid November and run through December. Games and practices will be held weekdays and Saturdays at local schools.
Cost for these programs is $26 for city residents and $31 for non-city residents. Registration is at the Coeur d’Alene City Hall, 710 Mullan Avenue.

Lakeland Hawks 22, Timberlake 6: Damen Cope caught two long touchdown passes from Caysen Loutzenhiser. Once again the Hawks offensive line helped Terrance Edwards, Chase Burcham, Cody Morse and Mitchell Zimmerman produce key first down runs that kept many drives possible. Taft Smithson chipped in with an interception on the defensive side and Mitchell converted 2 of 3 extra-point tries.
Coeur d’Alene Chargers 44, Kellogg Storm 22: In a battle of unbeaten teams, the Chargers’ offensive line led by Spohia Richey, Varick Meredith, Brandon Eaton, Alex Green and Lane Yutzie paved the way for 215 passing yards and 4 touchdowns by Brodie Beebe. Zach Johnson and Kyle Bride each had 2 touchdown receptions. Hudson Howard and Steven Burgess also scored on touchdown runs. The defense was led by a strong effort from Gage Henson, Kole Sjostrom, Kevin Rose, and Cooper Rasmussen, combining for a total of 24 tackles for loss. The Chargers are now 5-0.
Eighth grade
Post Falls Trojan Orange 31, Coeur d’Alene Jaguars 0: Post Falls was led by a strong defensive performance that allowed minus 7 total net yards for the game. Caleb Albert, Justin Gies, Carson Shertz, Grant Jones and Austin Schmidt were the leading tacklers. Hunter Mills intercepted two passes and Schmidt another for Post Falls. The offense racked up 344 total yards. Derek Pearse passed for 125 yards and 3 TDs. Jacob Burton, Schmidt and Mills each had TD receptions. Leading rushers were Jones with 100 yards and 1 TD, Eli Gondo with 48 yards and 1 TD, Pearse with 40 yards and Schmidt with 31 yards. The win moves the Trojans to 5-0-1 on the season.
For the Jaguars, Blake Vucinich had 5 tackles, 1 QB sack and an “interception”; followed by Ryan Rios with 7 tackles, Nate Hayes who had 5 tackles and a shared QB sack with Thomas Schmidt. Wesley Sando had 4 tackles and Donte Ryen recorded a QB sack.
Coeur d’Alene Jaguars 26, Post Falls 6: In an Oct. 3 game, QB Wes Sando threw for only 38 yards but it included a 19-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Tony. Nate Hayes had 80 yards on the ground which included a 33-yard TD run. Cade Sample had 51 total yards running and an 11-yard TD run. Sando added 67 yards on the ground with a 3-yard TD run: Thomas Schmidt led the team in tackles with 9, had a fumble recovery, and shared a QB sack with Nate Hayes, who also had a fumble recovery. Lukas Neal had 6 tackles, caused 2 fumbles and also had a fumble recovery. Ryan Rios also had 6 tackles; DT Tyson Libby had 4 tackles and Wesley Sando also recorded a QB sack.

Coeur d’Alene Sting under-14 girls: The Sting defeated the CWSA Navy Washburn 2-0 on Saturday, on goals by Geneva Bengtson and Jaizee Cessna.
Sting U10 boys Southampton: The Sting beat the Shadow SH Red 10-5 on Saturday at Valley Real Life. Gunner Larson scored a hat trick for the Sting, Boston Spear, Gavin Samayoa and Braden Ristic each scored twice, and Caylan Harshfield scored one goal. Gavin Samayoa had two assists, Benjamin Linford one.
Sting U13 boys Arsenal: The Sting earned two victories against IEYSA and six points on the table. The morning match’s score at Coeur d’Alene High was 5-1 with headers scored by Rylan Carter and Ronan Malaghan and goals by Jackson Henkle, Cooper Proctor and Christopher Swider; Connor Waddell had an assist. The Sting beat IEYSA 1-0 in the afternoon game at Mt. Spokane High with the goal by Rylan Carter, assisted by Christopher Swider.
Academy U13 girls: The Academy tied the EYSA Valor Deatherage 1-1. Claire Romero scored the lone goal for the Academy, with Kaylee Moate assisting.
Sting U12 girls gold: The Sting tied the Washington East SC Paroff 2-2 on Saturday in Puget Sount Premier League play at the Spokane Polo Fields in Airway Heights. Both Sting goals were scored by Isabella Lucky, one on a penalty kick. Hailey Parks had one assist.
Sting U8 girls (Sky): The Sting lost last weekend vs AV Spokane. The Sting’s lone goal was scored by Anna Ploof, with an assist by Sloan Waddell.
Sting U10 boys Juventus: The Sting beat the Shadow North-Side Blue 8-6 last Saturday. Trenton Anderson had a hat trick and 1 assist for the Sting. Connor Jump had 2 goals and 3 assists, Ronan Sternberg had 1 goal and 1 assist, Gavin Schoener and Zach McKenna each had 1 goal, and Quinlan Schreiber had 2 assists.
Sting U14 boys Valencia: The Sting tied the CWSA B01 Grey Cuevas 1-1 on Sept. 26. The Sting goal was scored by McKie Gregory and the assist was from Sam Anderson. Jacob Overoye had 5 saves. On Sept. 27 the Sting Valencia defeated the Cobra Aguillatas 2-1. Sting goals were scored by Cameron Dance and Tyler Shaw with 4 saves by Jacob Overoye as keeper.
This past weekend, the Sting played in NWCL action in Seattle. The Sting defeated FC Nova Black 6-1 on Saturday morning. McKie Gregory and Tyler Shaw each scored twice, and Cameron Dance and Sam Anderson each scored once. McKie Gregory had two assists, Cameron Dance, Jacob Janzen and Tyler Shaw one each.
On Saturday afternoon the Sting Valencia tied the Crossfire OR 01 Green 4-4. Jacob Janzen and Tyler Shaw each had two goals and an assist.
On Sunday, the Sting tied the ISC Gunners FC 1-1. McKie Gregory scored the goal for the Sting.
Sting U11 boys Yellow 04-05: The Sting beat the IEYSA Valor BO4 Button 5-1 on Saturday. Cooper Prohaska scored two goals, and Jack Meehan, Byron Anderson and Caden Thompson each scored once.
On Sunday, the Sting beat the IEYSA Scotties BO4 Kenlein 5-2. Chris Mongan scored two goals, and Byron Anderson, Cooper Prohaska and Caden Thompson each scored once. Alexander Nipp and Blaine Leonard each had assists.
Sting boys U11 White: The Sting lost 3-2 to FC Spokane Black B. Vela on Saturday. Landon Lee and Nate Wyatt each scored for the Sting, and Isaac Fritts and Landon Lee each had assists.
Sting boys 03-04 Gold: The Sting tied Washington East B03 Sandobal SC 1-1 this past Saturday in the PSPL Classic 1 League. Noah Janzen scored for the Sting, with an assist from Alex Reyes. Cole Jaworski was in goal for the Sting.
Sting U9 boys Ronaldo: The Sting defeated the Shadow SH 10-0. Max Cervi-Skinner and Zach Cervi-Skinner each scored hat tricks, and Max Hosfeld, Kai Delio, Keaton Gust and Sawyer Anderson each scored once.
Sting U10 girls Spirit: The Sting won 13-0 against Shadow NS2. Goals were scored by Izabella Douglas, Violet Andrews, Taylor Miller, and Caitlin Evans.
The Sting tied the G05 Gold Stuart 2-2. Sting goals were scored by Sally Gatten and Sam Beamis.
