Woman disrupts post office with wild claims

Kalispell Police tracked down a woman after someone at the post office on North Meridian Road reported that she had been disruptive by walking in with a small child, claiming to own the post office, claiming to own stock in the military and saying that she should get food stamps for free. The woman cooperated with officers and was quite mild-mannered after having reportedly let off so much steam.
A woman on Ashley Drive reported that her alleged drug-dealing neighbors had painted offensive signs and put them in the bed of the truck pointed at her house to accuse her of crimes. The woman told dispatch that she wanted the signs taken down because her neighbors were out of control. She then asked that officers not respond.
Officers found that a man was OK after a shelter reported that he became agitated and threatened to shoot people in Olney to make room for his family after the shelter turned him away. The man’s truck had visible bullet holes and he said he had been shot at. Once he was located by officers, the man explained that his truck had been shot at in the Good Creek area.
A woman on Liberty Street was counseled after she reported that her friend borrowed her e-cigarette and did not return it.
A woman on Seventh Avenue told officers that she knew who stole a ladder the previous day. She said a man admitted to her that he stole the ladder.
Someone broke into the bill pay boxes at a grocery store on First Avenue East North. A male suspect was caught on video.
A woman on Twin Acres Drive near Kalispell did not want Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies to respond after she told dispatchers that she intended to shoot a loose dog if animal control did not show up soon. The dog’s owner claimed the animal and the woman felt her warning was strong enough that she would not have future problems.
A man in Polebridge called because he found that someone had opened the gate to his 40-acre property and entered all the buildings located on it. The man also thought a person was camped illegally on his property, but a deputy found that the camper was situated on a neighbor’s property. No neighbors reported seeing any suspicious activity.
Deputies caught a suspect believed to have moved four 55-gallon drums to access a pontoon raft, floor jack and firearms from a property on Whitefish Stage.
A person on South Cedar Drive reported that they had video of a person stealing the front wheel off of a vehicle.
A wrecking company reported a theft of catalytic converters. The company found that the converters had been sold to another company. The buyer was willing to give the alleged thief’s information to deputies.
Hours after Montana Highway Patrol warned a rancher about cattle being loose on McDermott Lane, a vehicle had a run in with two of the animals. The driver was OK, but was advised to report the incident to county authorities. Animal control officers responded.
A person on Karrow Avenue in Whitefish had to fend for him or her self after calling for animal control to handle a pot bellied pig that had wandered into a yard to chow down on some apples that had fallen from a tree. The person learned that animal control does not handle pigs.
A man on East Cottonwood Drive in Evergreen told deputies that he was on foot when a man on a bicycle stopped and started threatening him. The walker called law enforcement and the man on the bicycle rode off, taking a box of Pepsi with him. A deputy was unable to locate the suspect.
A man was arrested on U.S. 2 near Marion after a citizen reported that he and several others had detained a wanted felon. The man was booked into Flathead County Detention Center for theft and a probation violation.
Someone hit an overhead railroad crossing bar and large pieces of debris scattered across Rose Crossing. Evergreen Fire Department and the railroad company cleared the mess.
Several pounds of ammunition and cigarettes were stolen from a residence on Olney Loop.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies were unable to locate a suspect after someone reported that they saw two men shoot a bear in the middle of the road on the cutoff to Bobtail Road.
A woman on Fourth Avenue West reported to Columbia Falls Police Department a burglary where someone allegedly came through the pet door and stole a laptop. Officers found that the woman who reported the theft was visibly intoxicated. She had also made unwarranted calls to law enforcement before.
A set of tires was reported stolen to Whitefish Police Department from a Columbia Avenue address.
