The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce UNWIND social gathering on Wednesday, Oct. 21, will focus on breast cancer awareness.

The “Pinktini Party” starts at 5 p.m. at Red Lion Hotel in Kalispell. In partnership with the Save a Sister initiative, the Kalispell Chamber event will feature games, prizes, good and craft cocktails.

The Save a Sister initiative is a collaboration among Kalispell Regional Healthcare, North Valley Hospital and the Flathead City-County Health Department. Goals are to promote breast cancer awareness through outreach activities, distribute educational materials and raise funds to improve women’s access and understanding for screening mammography. Save a Sister also supports post-operative durable goods that often are not paid for by insurance. All funds stay in the local area.

Annually, the Save a Sister initiative hosts the Turn the Flathead Pink campaign to raise community awareness by asking businesses and individuals to decorate in pink and wear pink to celebrate and show support for October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
