Flathead Valley Community College Theatre will open its fall season with “Dracula” by American playwright Steven Dietz.

Dietz’s adaption of Bram Stoker’s iconic novel features original characters and dialogue, yet the story is told using more aural and visually-stimulating elements for show goers to enjoy.

“Dietz is cinematic in his approach, and his telling of the ageless story is very unique,” said Director and Theatre Arts Professor Joe Legate. “Between the costumes, musical score and impressive set, it is shaping up to be a feast for the senses.”

In its twenty-fourth season, Flathead Valley Community College Theatre, under the direction of Legate and Theatre/Music Associate Professor Rich Haptonstall, promises the adjustments to the literary classic won’t disappoint. Its focus is on delivering each audience an entertaining, captivating and sensory-immersive performance filled with a lot of fun.

Joining Legate will be his son, FVCC theatre arts alumnus Mike Legate, who will deliver the show’s sound design. He earned a Master of Fine Arts from University of Nebraska and works as a sound designer at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colo.

“Dracula” will be presented October 23, 24 and 29-31 in the FVCC Theatre inside the Arts & Technology building on the college’s Kalispell campus. General admission tickets are $10 each, and students and senior citizens can enjoy a discounted rate of $5 each.
