Hormonal imbalances

Hormone imbalances can occur for different reasons, such as increased stress, lifestyle, environmental factors, pregnancy, perimenopause, menopause, andropause, and post menopause, and as expected in decline with the aging process. Many pathways in the body are affected by these fluctuations and imbalances. Imbalances can result in night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings, depression, anxiety, and low libido. Bone loss leads to osteoporosis, which increases the risk of bone fractures.

Research studies have indicated that bioidentical progesterone may be superior to non-bioidentical progesterone showing a strong connection between a woman’s progesterone levels and the risk of breast cancer. In 2004, the International Journal of Cancer reported a trial that indicated women with the highest blood levels of progesterone (and who had regular menses) experienced 88 percent less risk of breast cancer. Estriol is also highly effective and has shown to be breast protective in the treatment of menopause, while also improving bone density and promoting healthier, more youthful skin.

Correction of hormone imbalances can be accomplished using bio-identical hormone therapy, which can greatly reduce or eliminate these discomforts, as well as improve overall health and well-being. Some respond to therapy within a few weeks with noticeable improvements in sleep and energy, while others may take a little longer to notice changes. However, sometimes the ones who are closest to you notice changes before you do. Everyone is different in how they respond, but all do achieve a healthier, happier, more balanced life.

Many of the declining changes did not happen overnight and so will not necessarily correct overnight, balance takes time to evolve. Following a program with consistency and compliance will improve your results, returning hormonal balance and well-being to your life once again.
