A Bigfork man was jailed and charged with felony assault with a weapon Tuesday night after he allegedly fired a gun during a disagreement with his wife.

According to court documents, Timothy Mark Snyder, 55, was taken into custody after the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a disturbance on Wolf Creek Drive. Snyder’s wife said the two were arguing when Snyder went to a shop and fired two shots from his pistol. One shot was fired into the door of the shop.

Snyder allegedly told his wife that the first shot was her “warning shot.”

During an investigation, a sheriff’s deputy found a .357-caliber pistol with two spent casings inside the cylinder.

If convicted, Snyder faces up to 20 years in Montana State Prison and a $50,000 fine.
