Sparks fly in neighborhood dispute

Kalispell Police responded to neighbors that have had ongoing disputes on Sixth Avenue East and were arguing over whether or not someone set off a firework in the street. An officer found a spent artillery shell that had sprayed dirt over one neighbor’s car, but did not damage it. The other neighbor was allegedly seen leaving the scene around the time the firework exploded. The neighbor denied involvement and no evidence of involvement was found in the neighbor’s car.
A man at a credit union reported that he had $160 in counterfeit bills and had a conversation with the people who were producing fake money. The man said he initially called the Secret Service, but the agency told the caller to contact local law enforcement.
A woman and man on Third Avenue East North said that they had miscommunicated about who was supposed to pay for a pumpkin that was reported as stolen from a business. The people promised to return to the store and pay for the gourd.
A woman was counseled by an animal control worker after she called to report that she had found a large pile of animal feces on a sidewalk on Leisure Drive. She thought the excrement might have been deposited by a bear.
Whitefish Police Department were asked to remove a man from a business on U.S. 93 after he would not leave the store. The man allegedly told a woman employee that she should “be very afraid.” The woman said she had a similar issue the previous night and that the man had touched her chest.
Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies responded after a rifle, shotgun, global positioning unit, name-brand sunglasses, and gym bag were stolen from a truck on Lakeshore Drive in Kalispell.
A deputy tried to obtain fingerprints from a truck on Lakeshore Drive after an owner reported that he thought someone had tried to break into his truck. The deputy found that the passenger side door of the truck was bent out a bit.
Someone broke into a home on Seventh Avenue East in Kalispell and the homeowners found that some documents were taken from the kitchen table.
A homeless man who sleeps in a truck felt threatened after a neighbor dumped stuff where the truck is usually parked. A responding deputy advised the homeless man that he was parking on private property.
A credit card and a fly fishing rod were stolen from a car on North Foy’s Lake Road.
A 6-year-old boy on Lost Creek Lane called to report that his twin brother and 8-year-old brother had gotten off the school bus 30 minutes earlier and began hitting each other. All was fine once the children’s mother was located.
A man told officers he “detained” a woman that he found breaking into a storage unit off U.S. 93 near Whitefish by slapping her.
Columbia Falls Police told a woman that they would perform extra patrols on Ninth Street West after a man and a woman came to her home twice begging for money. The woman said the suspects were acting weird and spacey.
A woman discussed options with an officer about having the father of her child removed from her place of employment.
