Eileen Leggett, 96, passed away Oct. 28, 2015, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at the Hospice of North Idaho Hospice House. Eileen was born in a sod house on Dec. 30, 1918, in Cody, Neb., to Carl and Hilda Terkildsen.

She married Orin Leggett on Sept. 30, 1936, in Martin, S.D. They moved to Grants Pass, Ore., where they lived for two years, before returning to Cody to farm and ranch. In 1944, Orin went to work for the railroad and they then made their home in Coeur d’Alene where Eileen has lived for the past 71 years. Orin passed away in 2003 after 66 1/2 years of marriage. They had two children, Gilbert and Joy, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Eileen loved gardening and flowers, but her family came first.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene. English Funeral Chapel has been entrusted to handle final arrangements.
