Deputies promise protection against drug-filled stuffed animals

Flathead Sheriff’s deputies promised extra patrol after a person who was in away in Idaho reported a call from an unfamiliar number. The person on the other end of the line said that someone was going to leave a Walmart bag with a “crack-filled” teddy bear or a box with something in it at the person’s home at 11 p.m. Deputies called the number and spoke to a girl who said friends had taken her phone during choir practice. Though deputies thought the call was a prank, they said they would keep an eye out for suspicious activity.
A man on Castle View Road called dispatch to ask why a neighbor was never taken to jail for assaulting him. The man said he had been taken to the hospital and a deputy was supposed to get back to him but had not. The deputy told the man he had violated a no-contact order and was still supposed stay 100 feet away from the neighbor. Later the man called to report that his neighbor had entered his home, pointed a rifle at him and said he was going to kill him. A deputy was dispatched.
A man on Canyon Road in Hungry Horse called deputies for assistance because a neighbor had hooked up to his shop’s power to run a camper. The deputy talked to the alleged power thief who explained that he had used the power in a test of the circuitry of the camper but did not intend to steal power.
A woman on U.S. 93 near Whitefish told deputies her husband had broken into her home, thrown her into the closet, held her down and hit her so that he could make off with a file cabinet. The two are going through a divorce.
A man with a bow and arrow was seen arguing in the middle of Seville Lane in Coram. A deputy found the pair, who said that they were arguing because the man wanted to sell the bow and use the money for gas to get back to Evergreen. The woman allegedly did not want to sell the bow.
Whitefish Police took a report of a woman on Baker Avenue who said that a sex offender that she did not personally know had called her place of employment 14 times in a four-day span. The woman was afraid the man was going to show up at her work.
A man reported that an ex-employee had stolen some tools. The employer did not know the tools were stolen until someone else informed him that they had showed up at a job site in Eureka.
Columbia Falls Police conducted extra patrol on Frontage Road after someone reported a teenager on a motorbike looking over his or her shoulder as they drove around the neighborhood.
Kalispell Police Department responded after a 16-year-old boy showed up at an apartment building and tried to fight an adult. The adult did not swing back after the 16-year-old’s punch missed. The adult did not want to press charges but he did want the information logged.
A woman called to report that someone had stolen her bank information and changed it. The generous information thieves transferred $9,000 into the account and then transferred $20,000 into the account. The woman said the money did not belong to her.
A coffee shop on U.S. 93 requested that trespass citations be given to two men and two women, all of the same family, who got into a verbal and physical fight over a truck.
A man called to report that he was getting threatening text messages from another man. Law enforcement contacted the texter, who said that he had been sending messages to the wrong person.
A woman on Second Avenue East North said she removed knives from a box that she found someone had left on her porch. She left clothes and papers in the box. When she came home, the box was gone.
A man was told that police officers don’t usually check people out of hotel rooms after he requested that an officer come and check the room for contraband. The man said he had checked out of a hotel the previous week and that someone had planted drugs in the room after he left. Police were called when the drugs were found.
