LETTER: Osorio-Khor is creative thinker

Karlene Osorio-Khor has worked hard for this community for almost 30 years on civic, public service and community projects. She has given freely of her time to school board, to city boards, to numerous charities and service organizations. Those of us who have had the pleasure of serving with her on boards and community projects know if you want something done ask Karlene to do it.

She ran for office against longtime incumbent Jim Atkinson for Ward 3 and made a good showing. It was unfortunate that she and the other 10 qualified candidates for Randy Kenyon’s vacated seat for Ward 3 were overlooked by City Council. It may have been the council felt Mr. Kuntz had an innovative plan to solve the parking problem near the high school. That plan has not solved the parking problem; it’s simply moved it a few blocks away from the parking district.

Karlene is an innovative creative thinker. Right now, with all the new directions and some with a hefty cost facing this city, we need someone who is a thinker, who listens, who cares and who is not afraid to take a stand or make a decision. I cannot think of a more qualified and reasonable person to sit on Kalispell City Council than Karlene. Ward 3 voters will be sending a strong message they want a leader of their choice by electing Karlene. —Charline Payne, Kalispell
