Idaho cross country
Gomez, a senior from Coeur d'Alene High, won the season opening 4-kilometer (2.5 mile) Clash of the Inland Northwest on Tuesday in at the Colfax Golf Club, finishing in 13 minutes, 40.33 seconds. "Kinsey won her race, her first collegiate win, and looked phenomenal," Idaho cross country coach Travis Floeck said. "She started out relaxed through the first 2K loop, but took over for the second loop. We're really excited for the season she'll have."
Timmy Mueller
Oregon State soccer
Mueller, a sophomore from Post Falls High, was named to the Hensor/Zaher Classic all-tournament team after helping the Beavers to a 2-0 record in wins over Marquette and No. 9 Michigan State. Mueller scored the lone goal of the win over the Spartans, scoring at 17:23 into the match. "Nobody stuck with me, so I stuck with my run," Mueller said. "The goalie went down to get it and I just flicked it over him. It was a great goal, but I just got the last touch. Everyone else got the ball up the field and Mikhail (Doholis) did a great job of getting it to me."

Rocky Mountain volleyball
Bertsch, a 5-foot-11 senior setter from Post Falls High, averaged 9.2 assists a set in helping the No. 5-ranked Battlin' Bears go 2-2 at the Biola Summer Slam tournament in California. She had a career-high 57 assists in a five-set win over No. 8 Vanguard. Rocky Mountain went 5-0 last weekend to improve to 7-2, with Bertsch reaching 3,000 assists for her career against Corban (Ore.) College, and was named Frontier Conference Setter of the Week for the second time this season.

Lewis-Clark State volleyball
Robinson, a 5-foot-2 senior libero who played as a freshman and sophomore at North Idaho College, was named Frontier Conference Defender of the Week after averaging 5.8 digs per set as the Warriors went 3-0 in the Red Lion Classic in Lewiston. She finished second in the tournament with 52 digs and added two aces. Lewis-Clark State is 4-3 on the season.

Finney, a freshman from Lake City High, finished the 6K (3.8 mile) Clash of the Inland Northwest in 17th with a time of 18:33.18.

Carr, a sophomore linebacker from Lakeland High in Rathdrum, led the Yotes with seven tackles in the team's 40-28 win against Eastern Oregon on Aug. 29 in Caldwell.
