Kalispell Fire Department on Friday morning put out two car fires, including one that is under investigation by the Kalispell Police Department.
Kalispell Fire Chief Dave Dedman said firefighters responded just before 6 a.m. to a small passenger car that was fully engulfed in flames on West Idaho Street.
No one was injured in the fire that destroyed the car, but Dedman said the cause of the fire is suspicious.
A second car fire was reported on Third Avenue at 10:50 a.m. Dedman said the driver of the car had just parked the vehicle and noticed smoke.
“The cause was mechanical failure,” Dedman said. The damage was confined to the engine compartment.
