COEUR d'ALENE - Megan Ramseyer, a standout setter/outside hitter for the Coeur d'Alene High volleyball team, suffered a torn ACL in her left knee and will be sidelined for the rest of the season, Viking coach Dee Pottenger said.

Ramseyer, a senior who has verbally committed to play volleyball at the University of Idaho, was injured in Tuesday's match at Post Falls, and received the news Thursday. The 5-foot-11 Ramseyer was a first-team state 5A volleyball all-tournament team last season.

"Devastating for Megan," Pottenger said. "You don't wish this upon any athlete, especially such a super kid who has so much going for her senior season. We will certainly miss her presence on the court. But we still have a lot of great talent on our team. This group of girls are pretty resilient and motivated. Our team goals for the season have not changed."

Coeur d'Alene returned all of its key players from last year's squad that finished second at state.

Pottenger said Idaho's offer of a full scholarship for Ramseyer still stands.
