Labor Day Golf: Lindholm, Johnston, Avery on top

Kalispell’s Logan Lindholm now finds himself sharing the lead while Teigan Avery, a senior at Glacier High school, moved in front by four shots during second-day action Sunday at the 78th International Labor Day Tournament at Buffalo Hill Golf Club.
Lindholm and Ryggs Johnston, a freshman at Libby High School, both have 133 scores after 36 holes.
Lindholm carded a 7-under-par 59 on Saturday on the Cameron Nine and followed with a 2-over 74 Sunday on the Championship 18.
Johnston, who had a 61 on Saturday, shot even-par on Sunday.
Brock Robillard of Calgary, Alberta, is one stroke back, 60-74—134.
Brian Beach of Missoula is two off the pace and Kalispell’s Ryan Santa is three back.
Ryan Keenan of Bigfork and former Labor Day champ Scott Desmarais of Calgary both had the best rounds on the second day with 71s.
Keenan is at 137, which is good for sixth place. Desmarais, at 139, is eighth. Defending Labor Day champion Kyle Mossfeldt of Whitefish is seventh, 68-70—138.
Lindholm, Johnston, Robillard and Beach will tee off in the same foursome today at 1 p.m. on the Championship 18.
Avery, who was tied for the lead after the first day with Labor Day defending champion Sarah Moodie of Whistler, British Columbia, shot a 5-over 73 on the Cameron Nine on Sunday.
Kali Gordon of Okotoks, Alberta, also shot a 73 and is four shots back.
Moodie struggled with an 81. She trails Avery by eight shots.
Debbie Boreson and Debbie Hadley, both of Kalispell, had 76s on the second day. Boreson is 10 off the pace and in fourth place. Hadley is fifth.
