Each September is an emotional time for the Bigfork Fire Department. Friday, September 11, 2015, many departments in the valley will be honoring our fallen brethrens. Bigfork Fire Department will be standing in front of our station to honor those that gave their lives that fateful day of 9/11.

Friends of Bigfork Fire will be holding their ninth annual community fundraiser Friday, September 11. The “Niner-Niner Golf Tournament will be at the Eagle Bend Golf Course. The cost is $99.00 which includes a ticket to Brats, Burgers and Band event. Call the Eagle Bend Pro Shop at 837-7310 to sign up. The “Niner-Niner” Tennis tourney will be Thursday and Friday, September 10th and 11th. Contact Susan Kraft at 2150-7072. For those that do not want to participate in the above activities, Come and Eat at the Harbor Village Pavilion starting at 5pm. $10/ for adults, $5/ for children under 12 yrs., $25.00/ Family of four. Music by “ Smokin Joe”.

As of August 28th, Bigfork Fire has responded to ninety-four (94) incidents: Building fire (2), Wild land fire (1), Emergency medical service (9), EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury (58), Motor vehicle accident with injuries (3), Motor vehicle accident with no injuries (5), Gas leak (natural or LPG) (2), Power line down (1), Service call (1), Unauthorized burning (5), Good intent call (1), Dispatched and canceled (1), EMS call, party transported by non-fire agency (1), False alarm (1), Alarm system sounded due to malfunction (1), Smoke detector activation (1), Wind storm (1).

It is extremely dry out. Please be very careful!!

Open burning closed as July heats up

As of July 1, 2014, open burning will be closed until Oct. 1, 2014. Recreational campfires will be allowed. They must be no bigger than 4’ x 4’ x 4’ and in a fire ring.  

October 7, 2014 9:14 p.m.

Open burning allowed

 Open burning will begin Oct. 1.
