The death of an inmate Thursday at the Flathead County Detention Center is being investigated.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry said the inmate died early Thursday morning.

“It’s most likely natural causes,” Curry said.

Protocol requires outside authorities to investigate the death, Curry said.

More information about the inmate was not available, pending notification of next of kin.

The body was being taken to the Montana Crime Lab on Thursday afternoon, according to Undersheriff Dave Leib.
