Parade of Homes winners named

Some of the finest homes in Northwest Montana will be showcased during the Flathead Building Association’s annual Parade of Homes today through Sunday.
Event hours are noon to 8 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $12 at presale ticket outlets throughout the area or $15 online or at the door.
The award winners of this year’s Parade of Homes were announced this week by the association, except for the People’s Choice award to be determined by parade participants.
Two new awards were added this year. A technical excellence award went to Old Montana Building Co. for “The Lookout” at 560 Halfmoon Flats Road near West Glacier. An honorable mention was added this year for Best Curb Appeal to Finmark Construction for “Copper Harbor Haven” at 298 Soaring Pines Trail near Kalispell.
Big Mountain Builders won in several categories for its “Viking Creek Retreat” at 672 Nature Trail in Whitefish. The three-bedroom home, which overlooks the Viking Creek Nature Preserve, won in the elite category for Best Kitchen, Best Master Suite, Best of Class and Best Floor Plan of Class; and won overall awards for Best Interior Decor, Best Kitchen and Judge’s Choice.
Old Montana Building Co. won several awards in the premier category for “The Woodlot” at 4001 Red Eagle Drive in Whitefish. The home won for Best Master Suite, Best of Class and Best Floor Plan of Class.
Westcraft Homes won the Best Kitchen award in the premier category for “The Elm” at 159 Northland Drive in Kalispell.
Other overall winners included:
- Best Architectural Appeal — J. Martin Inc. for “River’s End Retreat” at 62 River’s End, Bigfork.
- Best Craftsmanship — Silverbrook Estates for “The Nordic” at 155 West Swift Creek Way, Kalispell.
- Best Master Suite — Old Montana Building Co. for “The Lookout,” at 560 Halfmoon Flats Road, West Glacier.
- Best Curb Appeal — The Construction Group Montana, LLC for “The Mission at Ridgeline Cabins” at Lot 6, Ridgeline Drive, Lakeside.
Those who visit all eight homes on the tour are eligible to compete for a $1,000 grand prize shopping spree. Drop your “passport” in the grand prize box at any of the parade homes by 4 p.m. Sunday; the winner will be chose Monday during a random drawing.
