Cardinals drop two at CSI tourney

TWIN FALLS - Hannah Christianson had 17 digs and Brittany Gay 41 digs for the North Idaho College volleyball team in a 25-17, 17-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-5 loss to the third-ranked College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles in the Starr Corporation Invitational on Friday.

Brenna Meehan had 16 kills and 13 digs for NIC (8-8).

Tawnee Luafalemana had 15 kills for Southern Idaho.

"The CSI match was an intense match for both teams," NIC coach Kelsey Stanley said. "We went out strong, but once again were unable to finish. Those fifth games have been killing us this year. If we are unable to finish games, we won't be successful."

Brenna Meehan had 12 kills, Julia Silva 11 kills as NIC lost to Chemeketa 25-17, 25-21, 22-25, 25-21.

Christianson had 11 digs and Zuri Meehan 18 assists for NIC, which completes tournament play today.
