PLAINS - Karen Elizabeth Defa, 57, of Plains MT passed away Monday, September 7, 2015 at her home. Karen was born December 18, 1957 in Galesburg, IL to Frederick Floven Clover and Marlys Newton. Karen served 13 years in the U.S. Navy. She had a love for animals and helping others in need.

Karen was proceeded in death by her husband Donald Craig Defa. She is survived by her sons, Nate of Plains, Joshua, Doug, Todd (Julie), and Kenneth all of Salt Lake City, UT; daughters, Kristin of Billings, MT and Nooreen also of Salt Lake; brothers, Richard (Lee) Newton of Battle Ground, WA, and Jay (Joni) Clover of West Burlington, IA; sisters, Julie (John) Welker of Ronan, MT, and Vickie Evans (Dennis) of Plains; and numerous grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
