Coeur d'Alene Sting under-14 boys Liverpool: The Sting Liverpool placed second at the Pend Oreille Cup tournament last weekend in Sandpoint.

On Friday, Liverpool beat FC Spokane Grey Lopez 4-1. Cameron Calabretto had 1 goal and 1 assist. Collin Bell had 2 goals. Carson Jacobsen had 1 assist, Homero Galinda had 1 goal.

Jacob Overoye had six saves.

On Saturday, the Sting Liverpool tied the Flathead Force 2-2. Alex Lycan had 1 goal and Ben Blakely assisted Carson Calabretto for the second Sting goal.

On Sunday, the Sting Liverpool beat the Flathead Force White 4-0. Alex Lycan had 1 assist, Jadyn Freeman had 2 goals and 2 assists, and Dalton Durrant and Kolby Moore each had 1 goal.

In the championship game, the Sting Liverpool lost 6-2 to FC Spokane Triplett. Collin Bell had 1 assist and Homero Galindo and Cameron Calabretto each had one goal for the Sting.

Academy U9 girls: The Academy went 1-3 at the Pend Oreille Cup in Sandpoint last weekend.

The Academy opened with a 1-0 loss to the Coeur d'Alene Sting.

The Academy then beat the Spokane Foxes 6-1. Marissa Higbee and Macy Walters each scored two goals, Isabella Wright and Kennedy Hartzell one each.

The Academy lost 6-1 to the Spokane Foxes. Isabel Morisette scored for the Academy.

The Academy dropped its final game, 5-0 to the Coeur d'Alene Sting.

Academy U12 boys: The Academy, coached by Josh Martin, took third in its division at the Pend Oreille Cup last weekend in Sandpoint.

The Academy lost 2-1 to the Shadow Elite, beat the Flathead Force White 2-0, beat the Spokane Pumas 3-0, and lost 6-3 to the Flathead Force Green.

Braden Ferreira scored four goals in the tourney for the Academy, Cody Smith and Kameron Heston two each, Caiden Finan one.

Sting U10 boys Juventus: The Sting finished third in the gold bracket at the Pend Oreille Cup last weekend in Sandpoint.

The Sting opened with a 9-2 win over the Sandpoint Strikers FC Gore/Schmidt. Trenton Anderson had a hat trick, Connor Jump added two goals and an assist, Caden Thompson had two goals (one a penalty kick), Zachary McKenna had one goal, and Quinlan Schreiber scored on a penalty kick.

Later Saturday, the Sting lost to FC Spokane Gold, 2-1.

On Sunday, Sting lost 4-1 to the Spokane Pumas FC Torres.

Sting U12 girls black: The Sting won its division at the Pend Oreille Cup last weekend in Sandpoint.

The Sting beat FC Spokane Griffiths 5-1 on goals by Sophia Allan (2), Amy Corette (2) and Justine Trevino (1) and four saves by Lainey Hall.

The Sting beat the IEYSA Breakers 3-0 on goals by Sophia Allan (2), and Amy Corette (1). Lainey Hall had the shutout in goal.

The Sting then beat the Valor-Black 3-0 on goals by Sophia Allan (1) and Justine Trevino (2), and a shutout by Lainey Hall in goal.

In the championship game, the Sting beat the Valor-Black 3-1 on goals by Justine Trevino (1) and Amy Corette (2), and three saves by Lainey Hall.

Sting U14 girls: The Sting lost 2-1 to ASE Emerald. Jordan Roth scored for the Sting, assisted by Madison Sorsabal.

JUNIOR TACKLE

Sixth grade

Post Falls Hurricanes 38, St. Maries 12: Post Falls scored early with two touchdown runs by Jack Sciortino before St Maries answered back with a long touchdown pass. The Hurricanes went on to add another touchdown run by Caleb Schroeder and a touchdown pass from Sciortino to Charlie Nowlan before St Maries scored one more touchdown. Both teams had interceptions with Jack Sciortino of Post Falls having a pick and St Maries picked off a pass as well.

Lakeland Gold 18, Lakeland Green 0: Zach Yetter ran for one score and caught another, and QB Mason Burcham ran for a touchdown just before halftime.

Fifth grade

Chargers 36, Vikings 0: Quarterback Brodie Beebe went 5 for 6 for 60 yards with 1 TD pass to Zach Johnson for the Chargers. Hudson Howard totaled 187 rushing yards with 2 touchdowns, and Kyle Bridge and Zach Johnson each rushed for one score.
