SANDPOINT — School is back in session and with that comes the addition of yellow buses filling the roads. School officials warn that violations may be given for running a school bus stop arm.

"It puts kids in danger every day," said Donna Griffin, Lake Pend Oreille School District lead driver trainer. "When those big red lights are flashing, please stop."

When a school bus has the lights and stop arm extended, it means that children are loading or unloading from the bus, said James Koehler, LPOSD transportation director.
