Patricia Valadon Johnston, 82, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away in her home on Sept. 3, 2015, with her son, David, at her side. She was born March 17, 1933, in Havre, Mont., to Joseph and Policena Valadon.
She grew up in Havre and attended the University of Idaho, graduating in 1955 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. Later in life she attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., and graduated with a master's degree in education and pursued a law degree from Gonzaga University.
Patricia and her husband, Clarence, were married at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Havre in 1955. They were married until the time of Clarence's death on Nov. 18, 2011.
Patricia was a teacher, administrator and homemaker. She spent most of her life substitute teaching in the St. Maries and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, school districts, working together with Clarence in his dental practice, raising their three sons and spoiling her grandchildren.
She enjoyed reading, politics, keeping up with current world events and meeting for weekly coffee open discussions with her musketeers.
Patricia is survived by three sons, Joseph and his wife Christine, David, and John and his wife Danielle; and five grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Nicholas, Caroline and John Isaac.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel. The funeral Mass will be held in her honor at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Coeur d'Alene with burial following at St. Thomas Cemetery.
