Sage Wanner led the boys and Genevieve DeLorme the girls at the Mountain West Classic cross-country meet in Missoula Saturday.

Wanner took 164th in the race for Columbia Falls, with a time of 17:51.80. DeLorme took 155th with a time of 22:16.10. The Wildcats travel to Polson for the Polson duals Saturday.

Coach Richard Menicke said it was a tough course and a big hill that runners normally go up once they now go up twice. Wanner was also sick, he said. He said Tanner Hoerner had good race as he only dropped about 10 seconds off his normal pace, despite the hilly course. The team is on Polson this week.

Other Columbia Falls racers included (place, time):

Winfield West, 241, 18:44.30

Will Nelson, 299, 19:27.10
