PREP VOLLEYBALL: St. Maries tops Grangeville, Orofino in CIL tri-match

ST. MARIES — Kelsey Auer had 14 assists and four blocks as the St. Maries Lumberjacks beat the Orofino Maniacs 25-23, 25-12, 26-24 in a Central Idaho League match Saturday.
 
Alexis Cordell had 17 service points, Kari Ghramm and Devyn Wilson seven kills each and Paige Sines seven digs for St. Maries against Orofino.
Kaylee Auer and Wilson had 10 kills each for St. Maries in a 25-19, 25-18, 25-12 win over Grangeville to improve to 10-1, 3-0 in league.
 
“We felt like we were more solid against Orofino that Grangeville,” St. Maries coach Amy Scheer said. “We played well all day, but just didn’t peak against Grangeville. It feels good to have the league wins for sure.”
 
Kelsey Auer had 32 assists and 12 service points, Ghramm 12 kills and eight digs, Alexis Cordell eight digs for St. Maries, which travels to Kellogg on Tuesday.

COEUR d’ALENE ­­— Freshman outside hitter Ashley Kaufman had 21 kills, four blocks, 18 digs and four aces for the Timberwolves in a 22-25, 27-25, 17-25, 25-23, 20-18 loss to the visiting Bears.
 
Nina Carlson had eight kills and six blocks, CC Cates 20 digs, Tatumn Gould 24 digs and Klaire Mitchell 41 assists for Lake City (17-3), which visits Lewiston on Tuesday.
 
Lakeside d. Genesis Prep

POST FALLS — Cailyn Dohrman and Lillian Rhea each had seven kills, pacing the Knights to a 25-21, 25-13, 21-25, 25-18 North Star League win against the Jaguars at Post Falls Middle School.
 
“We used tonight to give our younger varsity players some extra experience,” Lakeside co-coach Kellee Johnson said.
Rhea had five aces and four digs, Dohrman four blocks, Talia Hendrickx 16 assists, 17 digs and seven aceas and Corine Peone 13 digs and three aces for Lakeside (4-6, 3-3 NSL), which hosts North Idaho Christian on Monday.
 
For Genesis Prep (0-5, 0-5), Josie Scribner had 15 kills. Laura Vidovich had eight blocks. Richelle Manson finished with 10 digs.
Genesis Prep hosts Kootenai on Oct. 3.

COEUR d’ALENE — Katelyn Stegman had 11 assists, 10 aces and seven digs for the Royals in a Mountain Christian League loss to the Lions at Holy Family Catholic School.
 
Ilyysa Emerson had six kills for North Idaho Christian (2-6, 2-2 MCL) , which travels to Lakeside on Monday.
