An increased focus by Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies on catching the culprits of a rash of recent storage-unit thefts enabled officers to nab one suspected thief Thursday night.

Christopher King, 24, of Kalispell, was arrested after a caller reported a suspicious person near units along Whitefish Stage Road.

“A responding deputy crawled into the area,” Curry said. “He snuck around until he caught the guy in the unit.”

King allegedly cut the lock to the unit.

Curry said it is unknown if King was involved with any of the other burglaries that were reported.

“There have been a lot of them so we are still working on investigating them,” Curry said.

Three storage unit burglaries were reported earlier that day in Flathead County.
