ANNIVERSARIES

Harold and Mavis Fuchs

60th Anniversary

Harold and Mavis Fuchs celebrated their 60th anniversary on Sept. 22, 2015. They were married in Mott, N.D., on Sept. 22, 1955.

They have four children: Gary, Roberta, Brian and Jeff. They have three grandchildren, Jeremy, Claudia and Christina; and two great-grandchildren, Jessie and Hailee.

They moved to Coeur d’Alene 47 years ago. Harold joined the Eagles right away and was president. Mavis joined the Ladies Auxiliary. Both have been active ever since.

We will have a family dinner later.

Bill and Jean Hjort

60th Anniversary

Bill and Jean Hjort, of Coeur d’Alene, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 16, 2015, with a family dinner hosted by their children at Beverly’s in Coeur d’Alene. They were married July 7, 1955, in Coeur d’Alene.

Their children are Kristy Trask, Julie Lowery, Linda Ehrenberg, Tim Hjort and Greg Hjort. They have eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one on the way.

They are lifetime Coeur d’Alene residents. Bill worked as a teacher for 30 years and 16 years as a tour bus driver. Jean was an accountant for 20 years.

WEDDING

Hassler-Lorimor

Kellie Brielle Hassler and John Thomas Lorimor, both of Boise, were united in marriage on Aug. 8, 2015, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Boise. Rev. Timothy Pauls officiated the ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Kellie is the daughter of Chris and Jan Hassler of Sandpoint. John is the son of Mark and Vicky Lorimor of Boise.

Kellie is a 2013 Bachelor of Arts elementary education graduate of Boise State University and currently at third-grade teacher at Nampa School District. John attended Boise State University and is employed with WESCO Distribution in Boise.

The wedding party included: Matron of Honor Chantelle Potter of Nampa; bridesmaids Kia Hassler (sister of the bride) of San Diego, Calif., Katy Hassler (sister of the bride) of Boise, Rebecca Timmons (friend) of Boise, Emily Boffa (friend) of Chandler, Ariz., and Holland Nichelson (friend) of Mountain Home; Best man Matt Gibbs (friend) of Boise; groomsmen Emory Jones (friend) of Boise, Russell Pottenger (friend) of Boise, Eddy Mockenhaupt (friend) of Boise, Kris Ellis (friend) of Boise, Mike O’Leary (friend) of Sicily, Italy, Navy base, and in memoriam Austin Horejs; flower girls Jayde Nelson (niece of the bride) of Boise, Violet Scott (niece of the groom) of Richland, Wash., Rosie Scott (niece of the groom) of Richland and Taelor Bloxham (friend of the bride) of Boise; and ring bearer Xavier Bloxham (friend of the bride) of Boise.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Church Organist Eileen Brandt. A reception was held at Star Community Barn in Star. Music and entertainment was provided by DJ Ernesto Berumen of Boise.

The couple honeymooned at Sandals in St. Lucia Eastern Carribean. They will reside in Boise.

ENGAGEMENT

O’Neal-McKahan

Gary and Cathy O’Neal of Dalton Gardens are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Anna Lynne O’Neal to Chris McKahan both of Coeur d’Alene, son of Randy and Ruth Anne McKahan, and Tom Sanner and Kathy McKahan, all of Coeur d’Alene.

Anna graduated from North Idaho Christian School in 2001 and North Idaho College. She is employed at Advanced Benefits. Chris graduated from Lake City High School in 2004 and the University of Idaho in 2009. He is employed by the Central Valley School Technology Department.

The couple will be united in marriage at 3:33 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at Dancing Dog Farm (Anna’s parents home in Dalton Gardens).

MILESTONE BIRTHDAY

Orville Benjamin

104th Birthday

On Sept. 12, 2015, Orville Benjamin celebrated his 104th birthday with his wife Ann, friends and family at a local restaurant. Orville was born in Belfield, N.D., in 1911 and has been a resident of Coeur d’Alene for more than 85 years. He retired from Kaiser Trentwood in 1970. Go Dad!

MILITARY

Aviation Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Brian Meehan, a native of Spirit Lake, services the engine of an MH-60S Seahawk from the “Black Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 4 on the flight deck of aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). Washington is operating in Southern California waters, preparing to deploy around South America as a part of Southern Seas 2015.
