Bigfork students win journalism awards

Bigfork students at the University of Montana School of Journalism recently earned scholarships. 

Here is a list of scholarships with a local connection:

• Hannah-Laura Rudolph, of Bigfork, earned a $4,500 Myre-McGaugh Scholarship. She is a 2012 graduate of Bigfork High School and the daughter of Mary and Don Rudolph of Juneau, Alaska. (The late John McGaugh was a former publisher of the Daily Inter Lake. His wife was the former Hilda Myre of Kalispell.)

• Keiko Sagami, of Bigfork, earned a $7,000 Montana Broadcasters Association Diversity Scholarship. She is a 2012 graduate from Bigfork High School and the daughter of Kelly Johns of Kalispell and Tony Sagami of Seattle.

• Peregrine Frissell, of Polson, earned a $7,500 Lee and Donna Metcalf Scholarship. He is a 2012 Polson High School graduate and the son of Dale Hannon and Chris Frissell of Polson.

• Tailyr Irvine, of Ronan, earned a $250 Robert L. Wolfe Scholarship. She is a 2011 graduate of Ronan High School and the daughter of Angela LaForge of Missoula and Michael Irvine of Ronan.
