SANDPOINT — A Moyie Springs woman accused of multiple counts of lewd conduct is being granted a new trial after one of the state's key witnesses recanted her testimony.

A scheduling conference in the case against Heidi Julia Johnson is set for Oct. 20. First District Judge Barbara Buchanan granted a defense motion for a new trial on Thursday, court records show.

A Bonner County jury convicted Johnson of three counts of lewd conduct and acquitted her of three additional counts in April.
