A Libby area man avoided serious injury after a rollover accident on Pipe Creek Road Wednesday afternoon.

The man was reportedly traveling south on Pipe Creek Road shortly after 3 p.m. when his vehicle went off the road and rolled. The truck struck a tree during the incident and was severely damaged.

The driver’s name has not been released by law enforcement, but he was treated for minor injuries and released from Cabinet Peaks Medical Center Wednesday afternoon. No further details about the accident were available from Montana Highway Patrol.

Lincoln County Sheriff Roby Bowe said the injuries to the driver could have been much worse, had he not been wearing his safety belt.

“Seat belts save lives,” he said.
